All of the survey lines showed a gradual deepening of the snow cover from fall through winter to spring. Most of the snow melted the first few weeks of June. There was a great deal of spatial variability in the snow cover. For example, along the snow mainline, depths in May ranged from a few cm on the top of a ridge to more than a meter in the lee of a ridge. There was a snow intensive observation period during spring. |
