Site map

Photomosaic of Ice Station SHEBA, May 17, 1998. The photographs were taken from an altitude of 6000 ft. The 100-m-long Des Groseilliers can be seen in the lower left portion of the picture. Mass balance sites are denoted by red dots, snow survey lines by red lines, and the albedo line by a blue line. Click on a site for more information. The ice is still covered by a dry snow. There was dynamic activity just beyond Atlanta (top center of picture) with opening and closing of a lead and rafting of lead ice.
