Monthly Maps: Number of Observations per Day for International Surface Pressure Databank Version 4.7
Surface pressure data from the ISPD v4.7 was used as input to the 20CRv3 Reanalysis Project. The count of all available, assimilated, or rejected data is mapped here.
The plots have summed all the counts for a month in every 2 degree latitude/longitude box and divided by 365 to get an average counts per day with a maximum of 24 per day shown on the map.
The NetCDF files for available, assimilated, and rejected counts are computed and represent 2x2 degree bins centered on the lat/lon given in the files. All observation data can be found in the ISPDv47 HDF5 files at NCAR.

If you have data available for a year, please contact Gil Compo.
The International Surface Pressure Databank is a collaboration of the Atmospheric Circulation Reconstructions over the Earth initiative, the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) Working Group on Surface Pressure, and the GCOS/World Climate Research Programme Working Group on Observational Data Sets for Reanalysis, and their partners. The ISPD station component shown here was merged by NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information.Citations:
