SHOUT 2015 Hurricane Campaign
The first SHOUT dedicated campaign took place in August-September 2015, collecting observations to support evaluations of the data impact on forecasts of hurricanes and tropical storms. Three successful missions were completed before aircraft-related issues led to an early end to the campaign. Payloads included the Airborne Vertical Atmospheric Profiling System (AVAPS), the High Altitude MMIC Sounding Radiometer (HAMSR), the High Altitude Wind and Rain Airborne Profiler (HIWRAP), and the Lightning Instrument Package (LIP).
