Abstract

In this talk, Kristen Aponte, NCAR Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will share her own experiences and some lessons learned in creating more inclusive approaches to research. The talk will be framed around steps that can be taken when working within a team, working with communities, and working with systems/agencies. These efforts will be based on experiences and approaches currently deployed at NCAR, what research around inclusive research suggests, and the strategic efforts planned for future endeavors.
