CIRES researcher Wei Huang joined PSL's Forecast and Modeling Development Team in January 2021 working with Jeff Whitaker and Sergey Frolov. Wei’s main work focuses on scientific software programming, and working with scientists for their requirements, from finding and debugging programs, profiling and tuning model performance, adding new model capabilities, and developing new tools for data analysis and visualization.

Prior to joining PSL, Wei worked for Hewlett Packard Enterprise and NCAR. He has experience in weather models, data analysis and visualization, HPC, in numerical model debugging, performance profiling and tuning.

In his free time, Wei enjoys skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, jogging, and gardening.
